Just not for the reasons you might imagine.
There are women I respect immensely, there are others I think are fucking idiots. There are men I respect immensely, there are others I think are fucking idiots. There are members of the LGBT community I respect immensely, others I think are fucking idiots. There are people of color that I respect immensely, others I think are fucking idiots.
In case you are not picking up what I am putting down allow me to lay it out in clear language.
There are people of all stripe that are fucking idiots. I speak only for myself when I say this, allow me to make that clear.
You know who else are fucking idiots? The people that attempt to use any ism with which they identify to discredit others with the broad brush approach. The people who use as a cudgel their identity and drive away their own allies in the process. They are fucking idiots.
I don't proclaim to know what others feel or have experienced, I only know my station in life and I would not assume to demand you adhere to my standards. We all have struggles, we all have different experiences. We can feel for one another and make the attempt to understand. We can listen but we can never actually know. Part of a conversation, in fact the very definition of a conversation is the exchange of ideas and observations seen by everyone involved and when that is shut down it stops any chance of each parties learning.
I don't project my feelings on you all I ask is that you don't project yours on me.
